Dalai Lama to visit º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ as part of lecture series

The Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, will visit º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ University in April as part of the Global Leaders Lecture Series.
On Thursday, April 24, the Dalai Lama is scheduled to give a public talk at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½. More details about the lecture, including ticket information, will be released in the near future.


dalialama1.jpgLeading up to the Dalai Lama’s visit, various programs on the Dalai Lama, Tibet, and Buddhism will be held on campus.
The Dalai Lama has spent the last half-century as an international political leader, advocating for freedom of the people of Tibet, opposing violence, and calling for respect of human rights worldwide.
The , funded primarily by the , allows the university to invite world-renowned speakers to campus.
The inaugural lecture series was held last April with Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner, award-winning authors of Freakanomics: A Rogue Economist Explores the Hidden Side of Everything.
